Long-term drug rehab is the best way to tackle an addiction and it is important that those looking to kick a habit recognise the slow process this can be.
That is the conclusion of the tale of one former drug addict in the US who has managed to turn her life around after getting help from a rehab center and getting involved in a program that helped change her life.
Nicole Smith had been using drugs since she was just 12, but despite the appalling conditions and drug-fuelled lifestyle of her early years, she has been able to turn things around thanks to the Narconon Freedom Drug rehab program.
Taken to the rehab clinic by a trucker, Nicole faced a long road to beating her addictions, but thanks to the support and help she received, she has been able to make a good recovery and has been drug-free for six years.
Speaking about her experience in tackling drugs, she said: "When I was on the Narconon program I saw how everything worked together and helped me in my everyday life. It all worked together and in sequence."
Many rehab centers today focus on providing patients with a strong support network so that they always have someone to rely upon and call on when they are feeling weak or having difficulties.
